The 2nd Annual Krchmar Charity Golf Classic was held at the Lansbrook Golf Club in Palm Harbor on May 11th, 2019. Haddad & Associates was invited to be a sponsor and we were happy to participate.
At only 33 years old, Matt Krchmar faced a deadly lymphoma diagnosis. His community quickly rallied support, organizing a golf tournament to raise funds for the experimental medical treatment that he needed to try to defeat his illness. On July 30, 2018, after a more than valiant fight, Matt passed away. Matt wanted his friends to find a deserving recipient each year for the money raised from the charity tournament named in his honor.
This year’s recipient is 3-year-old Anthony Scarpati. Anthony is a very vibrant and active three-year-old! He loves anything Disney and loves everything Hockey! He’s even spent a day or two on the ice in his mini ice skates!
When looking at him, other than his size, you may thankfully never even know he is sick. Anthony was born with numerous diagnoses encompassing abnormal cell activity throughout his gastro-intestinal system and several of his internal organs. Simply put, Anthony’s body mistakes food as “foreign invaders.”
Anthony has doctors locally to manage the day-to-day more minor struggles, however he must travel to his specialists at the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital for quarterly organ biopsies, to check for signs and symptoms of disease advancement, or for severe flair-ups.
Haddad & Associates wish Anthony and his family all the best and are thankful we could be a small part of helping them.
